TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Development : AI-Powered CAE Opens New Possibilities for Racing Car Aerodynamics: RICOS Begins Validation

RICOS Co. Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yu Ihara; hereinafter “RICOS”) has entered into an engineering services agreement with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Development Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Ashigarakami-gun, Kanagawa; President: Kenji Terao; hereinafter “TGR-D”) for aerodynamic analysis of racing cars using machine learning technology.

■ Overview
RICOS will apply its proprietary AI-CAE technology to improve aerodynamic performance in motorsport development. The project aims to address one of the key challenges of conventional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)—extensive computation time—by using machine learning to deliver rapid predictions and significantly shorten development cycles.

■ Key Applications
1. Faster Analysis:
Significantly reduce computation time while maintaining the accuracy required for conventional simulation workflows.
2. Proprietary “IsoGCN” Algorithm:
RICOS’s proprietary machine learning algorithm incorporates characteristics of physical phenomena to accurately capture complex 3D geometries and enable highly accurate predictions for previously unseen designs.
3. Expanded Design Exploration:
Increasing the number of design iterations enables engineers to optimize performance within shorter development cycles.

Through this project, RICOS aims to accelerate the realization of a world in which optimal performance can be designed almost instantaneously, even in the extreme engineering environment of motorsport.
