Daikin has adopted the AI-CAE solution RICOS Lightning to improve the efficiency of air-conditioning compressor design.
In an evaluation launched in 2024, Daikin and RICOS worked to achieve fast, highly accurate AI-based predictions of refrigerant flow inside compressors, which can take approximately half a day to analyze using conventional methods.
The results of the evaluation were also presented at an academic conference. Based on these results, Daikin adopted RICOS Lightning in 2025. In addition to reducing analysis time, the company aims to create an analysis environment that can be readily used by a broad range of personnel, including design engineers.
